Shipping

Unless otherwise stated, all items are made to order. You’ll be notified of the lead time once the order is received. If you need something urgently, please get in touch prior to ordering and we’ll do our best.

Once your order is complete you’ll receive an email with tracking details. All items are shipped via Auspost, with the option of either standard or express post.

Shipping is automatically calculated at checkout, and sorry, but there’s no free option – this is a teeny tiny cottage business and we just can’t afford to absorb that cost. Even carbatec charge for shipping.

If you’re local you’re welcome to swing by the workshop and collect it – please get in touch prior to ordering if you want to do so.

International

You may be charged taxes by your country. This is completely out of our control. We’ve never seen the US charge any taxes (yay freedom), but the UK, EU and Canada are monstrously uncharitable. Expect to pay duties in those countries.

Returns

We’re bloody proud of what we make. We expect our tools to last several lifetimes of use, and offer a totally unconditional guarantee of workmanship and materials to the first owner. If you’re not 111% happy with it, please let us know within 14 days of receiving the tool.

If there’s a manufacturing fuck up error, we’ll pay for return postage. If there’s a problem we’ll either fix it or replace the tool at our discretion. If there isn’t a problem, we’ll work with you to figure out what’s going wrong when it’s in your hands.

If you receive an item and want to swap it for something else – for example, you ordered a 1″ shoulder plane but wish you’d ordered the 3/4″ – we’ll happily swap it for you provided it hasn’t been used (not even one swipe ‘just to see’), and is in its original packaging. I.e. we need to be able to resell it or we’ll go real broke, real fast. You’ll also have to cover your own shipping costs in this scenario.

Butter fingers?

If you accidentally damage your tool we might be able to repair it. Sometimes this is free, sometimes there’s a small fee. If this happens at any time – even if you’re not the original owner – please get in touch.

Wood Movement

Don’t forget that wood moves, and if stored improperly, the same thing will happen to a tool as happens to anything else made of wood. If you keep it in extremely dry or extremely humid areas, the tool will warp and might even crack. Returns are not offered for improper care (although we might be able to fix it). If your tool is not in use for long periods of time, keep it in an airtight container or tightly fit plastic wrap.

All that said, if you have any issues, please get in touch so we can help.
